Big City Mech

Big City Mech tells the story of Baler Baxter, an artificially intelligent farming robot with a heart of gold. Baler lives a peaceful life on the farm with an elderly couple, Cole and Claire Baxter, who accept him as one of their own. Their lives are ones of routine, hard work and strong family bonds. But, Baler’s tranquil existence is soon interrupted when Cole breaks it to him that the farm has to shut down. Modern advancements in synthetic food production has rendered traditional farming obsolete. To help him find a new purpose in life, Cole and Claire make the bold decision to enrol Baler at Chrome Heights Preparatory, a prestigious prep school in the city. Problem is: you can take the robot outta the farm, but you can’t farm outta the robot. [2018-Present, 7 issues (100+ pages), self-published on www.bigcitymech.com]

Hell’s Kitchen (NSFW)

Hell’s Kitchen is a small 3 page comic created during the early COVID days for I Don’t Do Comics, a digital indie comics zine. My writing partner, Stuart Buckley, and I had this puppy written and illustrated in about a week. We tend to keep things more on the PG side of things so making something a little more adult and a little depraved was a fun exercise for us. [2020, 3 pages, published in I Don’t Do Comics issue 2]

Slice

Slice is a short experimental comic about unwarranted paranoia. The story is based on the true event of a friend returning home to discover a single slice of white bread leaned against their front door. This really creeped them out. I found it fascinating how something so innocuous could be spun into something so sinister. I took this concept and imagined “what if the bread slice is something to be feared?”.
