BLOC STAC CO. - Logo Animation

BLOC STAC CO. is a made-up company which I created for an assignment while attending the Motion Graphics & Web Animation course at Vanier College in 2023. I liked the look so I decided to add some fun, bouncy animation to it!

Torontoverse - Queen West Animation (Freelance Work)

Here’s another animated mural for Torontoverse - this time for the Queen West area! This animated loop has nods to Cameron House, the Horseshoe Tavern, Queen Textiles Inc., Trillium Button Inc., as well as the area’s various shops and art galleries.

Torontoverse - Kensington Market Animation (Freelance Work)

In July I was invited back to Geomodulus to do some more animation work for their platform. This time, I was tasked with creating an animation bumper to accompany a popular Toronto neighborhood. I chose Kensington Market, a spot I love to visit every time I visit the city. I wanted my animation to reflect the diversity of the area, as well as its scrappy and vibrant energy. My next project for them will be a bumper for Queen West.

Torontoverse (Freelance Work)

In March 2022, I began freelance work for Geomodulus, a Toronto-based tech startup. I was hired onto their new project ‘Torontoverse’, a Toronto-centric platform that innovates by blending social media and maps. My job was to conceptualize, design and animate an interactive guide experience that had a video game/cartoon feel. My dream was becoming reality: I was being paid to design and animate my very own Clippy. I came up with ‘Siien’, an avatar loosely based on the CN Tower - doing literally anything else felt like beating around the bush. I wanted Siien to be bursting with personality - they’re cute, funny, friendly and deeply knowledgeable about Toronto!

Nobody Needs Any Of This (Animated Short)

These are some rough shots in varying states of completion from my forthcoming debut animated short, Nobody Needs Any Of This. The short is co-written and co-directed by myself and my writing partner, Stuart Buckley. The short follows a group of big box store employees who maybe have bought into the daily grind a little… too much? The project is set to be completed in early 2023.

Big City Mech (Animatic Film)

These are a few shots from an unreleased early-2020 pilot adaptation of the webcomic I co-wrote, Big City Mech. We conceptualized the short to be drawn to look like the comic and animated to look like an animatic. This was one of the first things I had ever animated so the choice was partly one of necessity. The project was abandoned after we realized it was an overly ambitious first animation project but adapting Big City Mech for television remains a dream of mine.
